COLLEGE PARK, MD - The University of Maryland softball team will head to the Pacific Northwest this weekend for the Jane Sanders Classic.
Note, due to weather and Florida State not traveling to the event, the schedule has been altered with Maryland first playing a doubleheader at No. 6 Washington in Seattle starting at Noon PT/3 p.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 29. On Friday, March 1, the Terps will play No. 25 Oregon in Eugene at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET. Then on Sunday, the Terps will play two games, first against Mount St. Mary's at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET followed by another game against the host Ducks at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET. Please stay tuned to @TerpsSoftball for the latest schedule news as weather could continue to impact the weekend's action.
All games with the exception of the Maryland/Mount St. Mary's game are scheduled to be live streamed via the Pac-12 Networks and live audio and live stats will be available for all five games.
Series history
- Maryland is coming off a 2-2 weekend in DeLand, Florida.
- No. 25 Oregon will host the tournament after starting 9-7. They are coming off a 3-2 weekend in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with wins over UCF, Notre Dame, and Long Beach State and lost to Baylor and Nebraska. Oregon is hitting .311 at the plate with 132 hits and 12 home runs. They are lead by redshirt junior left fielder Kai Luschar who is batting .500 with 27 hits. In the circle they have a team ERA of 2.22. Freshman Taylour Spencer has a 4-3 record for the Ducks and a 2.51 ERA over 39.0 innings pitched.
- Maryland is currently 1-3 all-time against Oregon with their last meeting coming back last season. The Terps upset No. 22 Oregon 7-3 in last season's opener in Mexico.
- No. 6 Washington (12-2) is heading to Oregon on a four game winning streak. This season they have notable losses to #1 Oklahoma (4-3, 8 innings) and No. 7 Oklahoma State (7-0). The Huskies have ranked victories over No. 17 Nebraska (8-0, 5 innings) and No. 18 Kentucky (8-1).
- Washington has a team batting average of .324 with 125 hits over 14 games. Sophomore center fielder Brooklyn Carter is batting .400 with 22 hits. In the circle, the Huskies have a team ERA of 1.52. Sophomore Ruby Meylan is 5-1 with a 0.59 ERA in eight appearances.
- Maryland is currently 0-2 all-time against Washington. The last time they placed was in 2014 when the Terps lost 11-0 in five innings.
- Maryland is 10-0 against Mount St. Mary's. The last time they have played was in 2010 in which Maryland won 4-2.
The Terps are looking to bounce back this weekend in Eugene, after going 2-2 in Florida.

- Maryland wrapped up their weekend in Deland, Florida going 2-2 against three different opponents. They had a pair of wins over Green Bay and losses to Stetson and LIU.
- On Friday, the first game of the tournament the Terps were able to beat Green Bay 8-0 in five innings. Sophomore pitcher Bri Godfrey pitched her first career shutout and her first complete game. Godfrey dominated in the circle, retiring 14 of the 17 batters she faced.
- Diamond Williams continues to impress at the plate hitting her fourth home run of the season. Her two-run home run in the fifth inning helped spark a six-run inning that eventually ended the game.
- On Saturday, Maryland was able to defeat Green Bay again 9-1. The Terps were able to get a season-high 14 hits in the game. Jaeda McFarland had a career day going 5-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Genevieve Ebaugh had a stellar performance in the circle to earn her first win of the season and also her first career complete game. She allowed just one run and three hits while striking out six batters.

- Marshall transfer Bri Godfrey has been phenomenal in the circle this season for Maryland. Pitching back in her home state of Florida, Bri retired the first 16 batters of the game as she carried a perfect game into the sixth inning. She finished the game only allowing one hit in six innings.
- Godfrey is 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA in six appearances, including four starts. Over 25.1 innings pitched, she has allowed 11 hits and opponents are batting just .134 against her.
Godfrey is 3-0 for the Terps and has a ERA of 1.38.
jaeda mcfarland career day
- Jaeda McFarland had a career day on Saturday to help Maryland defeat Green Bay. She went 5-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Her five hits ties an NCAA single game record for most hits this season. A triple in the sixth inning added to her school record for most in a career with 15. Jaeda now has 45 career multi-hit games.
- McFarland is batting .306 with 15 hits, three doubles and two triples. She is also 3-3 on stolen base attempts.
