Terps Lose Game Two Of Doubleheader Against Rutgers

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland softball lost game two of its doubleheader against Rutgers, 9-0, at Maryland Softball Stadium on Wednesday.
Maryland (17-21, 4-7 B1G) was unable to manufacture any runs against Rutgers' pitcher Mattie Boyd. She allowed just three hits and struck out four batters in her complete outing. Boyd improved to 14-6 on the season in the circle.
Megan Mikami, Michaela Jones and Mazie MacFarlane supplied the hits for the Terps.
Bri Godrey pitched 3.1 innings and struck out one batter. Julia Shearer pitched the remaining 1.2 innings and struck out one batter while allowing zero hits.
Rutgers (23-16, 7-4 B1G) was led by Morgan Smith's grand slam in the fourth inning. She finished 2-for-2 with five RBIs.
