COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland baseball program continues its 10-game road stretch as it travels to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This is the second consecutive road conference series for the Terrapins, after playing at Northwestern last weekend. All three games of the weekend will be streamed on B1G+ and air on the Maryland Baseball Network.

Maryland (24-14, 5-7 B1G) comes into the weekend series after taking a midweek victory over Delaware on the road 11-10. The Terps got off to an early 8-1 lead in the third inning, thanks in part to home runs by Eddie Hacopian and Jordan Crosland. Delaware would get three runs in the bottom of the fourth, but Maryland would answer with three runs in the top of the fifth on a double by Chris Hacopian and a single by Eddie Hacopian. Delaware got four runs in the bottom of the fifth and followed it with two runs in the sixth to make it an 11-10 score. Ryan Van Buren would come on for the Terps in the seventh, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings allowing only one baserunner via a walk. Logan Berrier came on to get the final two outs of the game to secure the 11-10 win for the Terps.

The Terrapins and the Cornhuskers have faced off on 18 occasions, with the Terps holding the slight advantage in the series 11-7. The two teams last met during the 2023 Big Ten Tournament, with the Terps defeating the Cornhuskers 4-2 to go to their second Big Ten Championship game in program history and the first since 2015.
Nebraska (23-11, 6-3 B1G) come into the weekend after falling to Creighton 6-4 on Tuesday. Tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Nebraska drove in two runs on a pair of hits to take a 3-1 advantage. Creighton would get one back in the top of the eighth to make it a 3-2 game, before scoring four runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-3 lead. Nebraska would get one run back in the bottom of the inning on a two out RBI single and had runners on the corners with two outs, but a strikeout ended the comeback effort for Nebraska. Case Sanderson leads the team with a .365 batting average, while hitting two home runs and driving in 13 RBI. The offense is paced by the bat of Josh Caron, who leads the team with seven home runs and has 40 RBI. On the mound, the Cornhuskers are led by the duo of Brett Sears and Mason McConnaughey. The pair have a combined 10-2 record, with Sears holding a 1.32 ERA and McConnaughey's ERA sitting at 2.29. Casey Daiss leads the team with four saves on the campaign and has a 1.93 ERA across 12 appearances.
