
Wyche Reaches Career Milestone In Loss To Ohio State, 4-0

COLUMBUS, OH – Courtney Wyche became one of four Terps in program history to reach 600 career strikeouts in Maryland softball's 4-0 loss to Ohio State in game one at Buckeye Field on Friday.
Ohio State (25-17, 6-9 B1G) scored first in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run by Kami Kortokrax. They added runs in each of the next two innings. Maryland (18-25, 4-11 B1G) couldn't manufacture any runs despite out-hitting the Buckeyes 6-5.
Wyche's record-setting strikeout occurred in the first inning and she continued her dominant outing in the circle. She retired the first 11 batters she faced and finished with six strikeouts through 5.1 innings. Wyche allowed three runs before Kiera Bucher entered the game in the circle.
