
Terps Finish With Second-Best NCAA Regional Performance, Score 196.350

GAINESVILLE, FL – Maryland gymnastics posted a score of 196.350 and placed third in session one of the NCAA Regionals second round at Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Friday. Maryland's score was its second-highest performance at an NCAA Regional in program history. Its best occurred last season with a 196.675 score.
Maryland competed against No. 5 seed Utah, No. 12 seed Michigan State and Towson. Utah and Michigan State finished first and second respectively and advanced to the regional final on April 7.
The Terps made a strong last push in their final rotation on vault as they battled the Spartans for a second-place finish. Emma Silberman scored a career-high 9.950 and broke Ally Krikorian's 9.900 score in 2010 to become the program record holder for the highest vault score at an NCAA Regional. The Terps' 49.175 team score on vault also matched a program record set in 2022 at the NCAA Raleigh Regional.
