Williams was a key member to this Maryland team since transferring over from Coastal Carolina. She started in all 54 games this season at first base and led the Big Ten in putouts. Both Wyche and Williams played pivot roles in the Terps win over Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament. Williams hit her 14th home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning. A solo shot to right center helped Maryland defeat Penn State 3-1. In her only season as a Terp, Williams would finish her career ranked fourth all-time in program history for single-season home runs, and the blast was the first home run by a Terp in the Big Ten Tournament since May 7, 2015, against Penn State, when three Terps went deep. Williams went 2-for-4 on the day with two RBIs and a run.
Courtney Wyche would pitch nine innings for her 19th complete game and earned her 13th win of the season. Wyche surrendered just three hits and struck out five batters.
