Terrapins Close Season at NCAA Regionals

BRYAN, TX -- The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up its 2023-24 season at NCAA Regionals at the Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas Wednesday.

The Terrapins finished 9th of 12 teams competing with a score of 892 (302-294-296). This was Maryland's second straight appearance as a team in NCAA Regionals under third-year head coach Kelly Hovland. 

Sophomore Nicha Kanpai led Maryland and tied for 24th with her score of 221 (77-71-73), which was +5.

Fifth-year seniors Maria Vittoria Corbi, Virginia Bossi and senior Patricie Mackova closed their careers as Terrapins. Mackova tied for 28th with her score of 222 (77-73-72). Mackova owns three of the top five season scoring averages in Maryland history, including this year's average of 71.88. Last season, she set the program record with her average of 71.63. Mackova also won more individual titles in her career than any Terp in program history with four.

In Regionals, Corbi finished with a score of 225 (74-76-75) and Bossi also shot a 225 (74-74-77). They tied for 39th.

Junior Panassaya Somchit earned a score of 231 (78-77-76). 

Maryland set the program record for scoring average of 869.5.
