Tagovailoa Signs with The Hamilton Tiger-Cats

HAMILTON, Ontario -- Former Maryland standout quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has signed with The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL), the team announced today.

A Second Team All-Big Ten selection in 2023, Tagovailoa led the conference in nearly every passing category, including passing yards (3,377), passing touchdowns (25), completions (290), points responsible for (182) and total offense (3,395) this past season. Maryland's all-time passing leader in every major category, Tagovailoa became the Big Ten's all-time passing leader by finishing his decorated career with 11,256 career passing yards.

Tagovailoa recently attended NFL mini-camps with the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals before joining the Tiger-Cats today. Tagovailoa won't be the only Terrapin quarterback up north as Hamilton is coached by Scott Milanovich, who ranks second all-time at Maryland in passing yards with 7,301, trailing only Tagovailoa.
