COLLEGE PARK, MD - Kayla Thorpe is set to represent the Terps at NCAA Championships this year, competing in the women's javelin which will take place on June 6th at 9:45 P.M.

Kayla Thorpe was the lone Terp to qualify through to the championships, coming in sixth place overall in the women's javelin

Thorpe's Season at a glance
- Kayla Thorpe has a had a stellar season in her senior year with the program, as she has broken her own program record twice this season and became the first Maryland women's javelin thrower to qualify for the NCAA Championships
- Thorpe was also the bronze medalist at Big Ten Outdoor Championships, and was Maryland's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient on the women's side
- The Upper Darby, PA natice comes into the Championships in fine form, having thrown over fifty meters in her last three events, something that in program history has only been done by Thorpe

- Jeff Kline competed in the men's shot put for the Terps at NCAA Champinships in Austin, Texas
- Kline earned Honroable Mnetion All-American honors
Current terps in the Outdoor Maryland All-Time Top Ten
The Terps have 18 individual current student-athletes who hold spots in the school's all-time outdoor top ten, with five owning individual school records.
Meet the coaches
- Head Coach Andrew Valmon is in his 21st season with the Terps track and field team. Valmon brings an abundance of experience, having been the head coach of U.S.A. Track and Field for 2012 Olympic Games, a 2-time Olympic Gold medalist, being part of the U.S.A's 4x400 team in both 1988 and 1992.Â
- Associate Head Coach Danielle Siebert is entering her 15th season as a coach with Maryland, and boasts an impressive resume as a member of the U.S.A Track and Field, serving on multiple International team staffs. Siebert also competed for the Terps from 2002-2006. Â
