
Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland women's lacrosse is one of 100 Division I programs to earn IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognition as announced by the organization on Wednesday. In addition, 15 Terps were selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. As a team, Maryland earned a cumulative GPA of 3.553 and tallied a 3.521 team GPA in the spring.
Separately, graduate students Meghan Ball, Victoria Hensh, Brianna Lamoureux, Aiden Peduzzi, Kate Sites and Emily Sterling, seniors Shaylan Ahearn, Eloise Clevenger, Julia Hammerschlag, Hannah Leubecker, Libby May, Shannon Smith and juniors Sophie Halus, Jordyn Lipkin, and Maddy Sterling were all named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
This marks the third consecutive year on the honor roll for Ahearn, Hensh, Lamoureux, Leubecker, May and E. Sterling and the second straight year for Clevenger, Hammerschlag and Smith.
13 Terps that earned their Honor Roll selection were also selected to the Academic All-Big Ten team in June. Additionally, Ahearn, Hammerschlag, Hensh, Lamoureux, May, Peduzzi, Sites, Smith, E. Sterling and M. Sterling were all named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars, which is given to student-athletes across the conference who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.
