COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland wrestling team, ranked No. 29 in the Intermat poll, fell to No. 11 Illinois, 33-7, suffering their first Big Ten loss of the season.

Despite the loss, the Terps picked up ranked wins at 157 and 184 pounds as No. 6 Ethen Miller (157) rolled to a major decision over No. 22 Jason Kraisser and No. 13 Jaxon Smith scored the lone takedown in the match to defeat No. 10 Edmond Ruth, 4-3.

Maryland is now 8-6 on the season and 3-1 in the Big Ten while Illinois sits at 8-2, 3-2.

The match served as the program's alumni night.
