COLLEGE PARK, MD -- With the baseball season coming to an end, it's time to recap the Terps performances on the year.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MLB)
MATT SHAW, CHICAGO CUBS
In his first season in the major leagues, Matt Shaw got better as the season went on, finishing with 3.1 bWAR. Shaw finished the year with 13 home runs, 17 steals and 21 doubles, showcasing his all-around value. The third baseman caught fire after the All-Star Break, hitting 11 of his 13 home runs in the second half and recorded a .839 OPS. Shaw was named a Rawlings Gold Glove Finalists in the National League at third base and helped the Cubs advance to the NLDS.
BRANDON LOWE, TAMPA BAY RAYS
Brandon Lowe had one of the best seasons of his career thus far, being named to his second All-Star team. The second basemen finished the season with a .256/.307/.477 slash line, good for a .785 OPS. Lowe led all second basemen with 31 home runs in 2025. The Ray drove home 83 runners while recorded 130 hits and scoring 79 runs.
SEAN BURKE, CHICAGO WHITE SOX
Sean Burke was named the Chicago White Sox's Opening Day starter in 2025 and was in the rotation for the majority of the season. In 22 starts (28 appearances), Burke pitched to a 4.29 ERA over 134.1 innings while recording 133 strikeouts. In his last appearance of the season, Burke recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts in just 4.1 innings pitched at the Washington Nationals.
LAMONTE WADE JR., SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS AND LOS ANGELES ANGELS
Lamonte Wade Jr. spent time between both the Giants and Angels in 2025, playing in a total of 80 games. Wade Jr. recorded 242 plate appearances and registered 35 hits, 19 runs, 18 RBI, and two home runs.
MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MILB)
NICK DUNN, SEATTLE MARINERS AND PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Dunn took 283 at-bats between the Phillies and Mariners organization in 2025. The third baseman scored 40 runs, recorded 61 hits, crushed nine home runs and drove in 39 runs.
HUNTER PARSONS, NEW YORK METS
Hunter Parsons appeared in 22 games in his 2025 season with the Mets Double A affiliate Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Parsons posted a 4.91 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 29.1 innings of work.
JOSE CUAS, ATLANTA BRAVES AND PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Appeared in 25 games between AAA and AA for the Braves and Phillies in 2025. Cuas recorded a 5.20 ERA, a 3-1 record, one save and 27 strike outs on the bump this season.
BENJAMIN COWLES, CHICAGO CUBS AND CHICAGO WHITE SOX
Benjamin Cowles played for both the Cubs and White Sox Triple-A affiliates in 2025 in 480 at-bats Cowles hit nine home runs, knocked in 49 runs, stole 18 bases and hit .235.
RYAN RAMSEY, KANSAS CITY ROYALS
Ryan Ramsey spent the majority of his 2025 season for the Royals Double A affiliate Northwest Arkansas Naturals, before making two starts in triple to finish the season. Ramsey posted a 5.70 ERA in 27 games, making 20 starts and punching out 114.
TROY SCHREFFLER JR., NEW YORK METS
Troy Schreffler Jr. spent his entire 2025 campaign with the Mets High A affiliate Brooklyn Cyclones. In 52 games Schreffler posted a .215 batting average, with three home runs and knocked in 19 runs.
NICK LORUSSO, NEW YORK METS
Lorusso spent his entire 2025 campaign with the Double A Binghamton Rumble Ponies, playing in 112 games. Nick registered 95 hits, 7 home runs, and drove in 56 runs, finishing with a .241 batting average.
JASON SAVACOOL, ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
Jason Savacool was a 2025 Florida State League Post-Season all star after a stellar 2025 campaign which saw Savacool post a 2.99 ERA in 23 games for both the low a and high a affiliates of the Cardinals. Savacool also managed to punch out 93 batters in 102.1 innings of work.
NICK DEAN, CHICAGO CUBS
Appeared in 15 games between high-a and double-a in 2025, in 15 games Dean posted 64.2 innings of work and punched out 75 batters.
NIGEL BELGRAVE, MIAMI MARLINS
Belgrave made it up to Triple A during the 2025 season, between Double A and Triple A. Nigel recorded a 2.51 ERA in 41 games striking out 92 while also logging six saves.
LUKE SHLIGER, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS
Luke Shliger spent his 2025 season with the Giants High A affiliate Eugene Emeralds. In 58 games Shliger had 49 hits finishing with a .263 batting average and four home runs.
TOMMY KANE, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS AND WASHINGTON NATIONALS
Tommy Kane spent his 2025 between various levels with the Giants and Nationals organizations. Kane appeared in 32 games posting a 7-5 record with 51 strikeouts.
LOGAN BERRIER, DETROIT TIGERS
Logan Berrier pitched to a 4-1 record in his first season in pro-ball with the Detroit Tigers organization. In 26 games Logan posted a 4.63 ERA, three saves, and 33 strikeouts.
BUBBA ALLEYNE, LOS ANGELES DODGERS
Bubba Alleyne spent the 2025 season with the Dodgers Double A affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers. Alleyne recorded six hits, four RBI, and three steals while never being thrown out on the base paths.
