No. 11 Maryland Falls in Overtime 2-1 to Ohio State

The Terps lost their first conference match of the season on Friday.

COLUMBUS, OH — The Buckeyes (5-5, 1-1 Big Ten) outlasted the No. 11 Terrapins (6-4, 2-1 Big Ten) in overtime on Friday afternoon.

A slow first half featured a flurry of corners, but few shots on goal. The two squads combined for three corners and three shots each, but neither Buckeye nor Terrapin could break the ice until OSU's Raleigh Kerst scored midway through the third quarter.

Annemijn Klijnhout's first goal of the season couldn't have come at a much better time for the Terps. Callie Rogers fed her a pass in the 50th minute and Klinjhout buried it to even the match at 1-1.  The rest of regulation was spent trading penalty corners and unsuccessful scoring opportunities, sending Maryland to overtime for the first time in 2025. OSU's Makenna Webster scored in overtime to give the Buckeyes their first conference win of the season.
