Brenda Frese's Breakdown:
  • "This team wants to play defense. They're really connected. They play hard, so they like to wreak havoc."
  • "I thought that was great for us to be able to get some impactful minutes, and then just defensively forcing them into 41 turnovers off 22 steals. I'm proud of that defensive intensity that we were able to have, playing hard on both ends."
  • "We're going to play hard. I think you saw that in every single quarter. If there was a loose ball, they were going to go get it. They're being really unselfish, which I love to see. But I love that it really starts with us on the defensive end and just really impacting their defense and rebounding. We've been really intentional with it and I think everything else kind of falls in place."
  • " I loved the mentality and how hard everyone played tonight."
  • On Okananwa and Garzon: "We need their leadership. We need their veteran experience. We need them to play like that every single night, because this is also still a young roster with a lot of freshmen that are going to have to play impactful minutes. Any time they can settle us down and consistently show up with their defense or offense or rebounding, it will make it easier for everyone else."
  • "I think both exhibitions gave us two different opponents, but also prepared us for our routine and our habits, both on the road and at home."
Ozzy-Momodu's Big Performance:
  • "I was worried at the beginning, but because of my teammates' belief in me, that helped my confidence."
McKennie's Masterful Exhibition:
  • "We're starting to realize where each person's shot is, so we knew which shots were ours to take and which ones our teammates had a better advantage to take. I think it was just all about that learning process of knowing each other and knowing that I may have the shot, but that one extra pass is even more open than what I've got. And it's all about the data that we're collecting as a team and just all the things that we're learning. It's just part of the process."
Up Next:
