Marchiano Signs Seven as a Part of 2026 Class

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- On Wednesday's National Signing Day, the University of Maryland women's soccer team announced the addition of seven members to its 2026 signing class. Head coach Michael Marchiano welcomed commits Kamryn Cole, Ella Petry, Morgan Shannon, Greyson Tischer, Paige Foye, Daryn Barnes and Elysa Greco to the program. All seven players have distinguished themselves at both the high school and club levels, earning multiple championships and accolades throughout their careers.

"We are proud and excited to officially welcome our newest Terps. The future of our program is bright, and we know this recruiting class has the drive and talent to help us move forward," Coach Marchiano said.

Ella Petry

Hometown: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
High School: Oceanside Collegiate Academy 
Club: South Carolina United FC
 

Before Maryland: Ella has excelled at both the club and national levels. She plays for USLW South Carolina United Bantams and has received multiple invitations to the USYNT ID Center and the Carolina Ascent Pro Pathway, in addition to participating in the Continental Tire National Selection Game. A three-time ECNL Southeast All-Conference First Team honoree and SCUFC ECNL Player of the Year, she has represented the ODP National Team and competed internationally with the US Youth Futsal National Team in France. At the state level, she has earned First Team All-State and Post and Courier honors three times, along with Palmetto State Player of the Year, Low Country Player of the Year, and AAA State Player of the Year by the South Carolina Coaches Association of Women's Sports. A team captain since her freshman year, she has also been recognized nationally as a Best 11 USYS National League Top 10 Player (Southeast Region), a TopDrawer/IMG Top 20 South Atlantic player, a Prep Soccer nationally ranked player, and an ImYouthSoccer Top Player for the Class of 2026.

Off the field, she is active in her school and community, participating in the National Honor Society, Student Government, Ambassador program, Girls Athletic Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Peer Tutoring, Writing Lab consulting, and coaching youth soccer. She is also involved in community service, including supporting Title 1 schools and organizing supply drives.

Daryn Barnes

Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland
High School: Friends School of Baltimore
Club: Baltimore Celtic 

Before Maryland: Daryn joins the Maryland women's soccer program as a three-star recruit. She won her high school championship in 2023 and totaled 37 goals in her sophomore season and 35 in her senior season. She has represented the ODP National Team and attended the Girls Academy ID Camp in 2022 and 2023, and was selected to try out for the USYNT in 2022. Additionally, she has earned All-Conference honors for three consecutive years, highlighting her consistent excellence on the field.

Off the field, she is active in her school and community. She is a member of FSAA, helping facilitate school events and coordinate sports activities, and has volunteered with Middle Grade Partnership (MGP), working with middle school students to prepare them for the upcoming academic year.

Morgan Shannon

Hometown: Olney, Maryland
High School: Our Lady of Good Counsel High School
Club: Bethesda SC
 

Before Maryland: Morgan has been selected for the 2025 All-American Game and has earned First Team All-State honors twice. She was also named First Team in the WCAC twice and helped lead her team to the 2023 WCAC Championship.

Off the field, she is a member of the National Honor Society.
Morgan Shannon: "I chose the University of Maryland because I want to compete and win in the Big Ten while staying close to my family and friends."

Elysa Greco

Hometown: Whitby, Ontario
High School: Bill Crothers Secondary School
Club: Markham FC
 

Before Maryland: [Player Name] has excelled as a regional track and field athlete, specializing in sprints and long jump, and was recruited to the Provincial tryouts. She trained with the National Development Centre (NDC) and has competed in the OPDL (Ontario Player Development League), starting every game since joining in 2020. She was also her team's top goal scorer in 2020 and 2021.

From a young age, Greco has been passionate about sports and competition. Named Athlete of the Year, she competed in multiple sports before focusing on soccer—a sport inspired by her three older sisters. A Provincial recruit and starter for Markham FC, she also volunteers and coaches younger players, inspiring them to chase their goals, and has been an active member of the Markham FC Club throughout her development.
Elysa Greco: "I chose the University of Maryland because it's a place that immediately inspired me from its beautiful, historic campus to the competitive energy of the Big Ten. The coaching staff was so genuine and enthusiastic, and I could tell they had a real plan for my growth as both a player and a person. Competing at this level is an incredible opportunity, and I am so grateful. Getting to share the conference — and maybe even the field with my sister makes it even more special."

Greyson Tischer

Hometown: Towson, Maryland
High School: Notre Dame Prep
Club: Pipeline SC


Before Maryland: Greyson has earned numerous accolades throughout her high school and club career. She was an IAAM All-Conference selection from her sophomore through senior seasons and was selected to play in the High School All-American Game as a senior. At the club level, she earned ECNL All-Conference North Atlantic honors in her sophomore and junior seasons and was chosen for the Capelli North Atlantic ID Team.

Off the field, she is active in her school and community. She serves as president of the Women in Sports Club and as a student leader in the One Love Club. Academically, she is a member of the Cum Laude Society, as well as the Math, Science, Chinese, and Art Honors Societies. She has also dedicated more than 60 hours to volunteer work.
Greyson Tischer: "Playing at Maryland was an easy decision since it allows me to play soccer at the highest level for amazing coaches. It also provides me with an academic platform unlike any other school and a chance to represent my home state at the college level!"

Before Maryland: Kamryn has earned Freshman First Team and First Team All-Conference honors in the ECNL. She helped her team capture the 2024 ECNL Conference Championship and is active off the field as a Flight Crew member and tournament volunteer.

Hometown: Red Bank, New Jersey 
High School: Red Bank Catholic High School
Club: PDA Blue ENCL

 

Before Maryland: Paige has excelled at both the club and national levels throughout her soccer career. She has been recognized as a TopDrawer Soccer #157 recruit and #10 in New Jersey. She earned ECNL All-Conference honors in 2023 and 2024, along with First Team All-Division, First Team All-County, and First Team All-Shore accolades. She was also named to the High School All-American Watch List and has represented the U-17 Puerto Rico National Team.

Off the field, Paige has excelled academically, earning a place on the Honor Roll and receiving the Academic Excellence Award.
