Maryland to Host 20th Anniversary Celebration of 2006 National Championship

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland Athletics will host a 20th anniversary celebration of the 2006 Women's Basketball National Championship team as part of its game vs. Indiana on Sunday, Jan. 4.

The day will begin with a special pregame event inside the Stephen M. Schanwald Pavilion at XFINITY Center from 3:30-5 p.m. The event will include food and beverage as well as a program featuring head coach Brenda Frese and members of the 2006 championship team. Tickets are $100 per person and do not include a ticket to the game. Click HERE to reserve your spot.

The celebration will continue with a pregame ceremony with Coach Frese and the 2006 team on the main court. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:30 p.m. for the ceremony, followed by tip-off at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase game tickets HERE.

Fans will have a chance to relive every unforgettable moment with video highlights from the 2006 season throughout the game, as well as a special photo opportunity with the 2006 championship trophy. The first 2,000 fans at the game will also receive a special giveaway T-shirt commemorating the championship anniversary.

The game will also serve as the annual Maryland Women's Basketball letterwinners game and will recognize all members of the Maryland Women's Basketball family at halftime.
