Alyssa Klebasko was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week in an announcement by the conference on Monday.Â

Alyssa, who receives her second conference honor of the season, helped No. 11 Maryland secure the 4-0 shutout win over Northeastern. She has recorded six shutouts this season to bring her career total to 17.

The junior from Odenton received her last conference honors on September 15. Klebasko was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week after playing in the Terrapin Invitational, only allowing one goal in 120 minutes of action.

Alyssa has recorded 54 saves on the season and has a goals against average of 1.01, ranking her third all-time in Maryland field hockey history.
The Maryland field hockey team travels to Bloomington, Indiana this weekend for the Big Ten Tournament. The Terps earned the No. 2 seed after finishing conference play 5-3. Maryland will play No. 7 Ohio State on November 6 at 2 p.m.
