COLLEGE PARK, MD -Â Seven members of the Maryland field hockey team earned All-Big Ten honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. Honorees include Josie Hollamon, Annemijn Klijnhout, Maci Bradford, Alyssa Klebasko, Jordyn Hollamon, Maia Adamson, and Maddie Vasilios.
Jordyn was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. A force in her first season, Hollamon recorded a team-leading seven goals and three assists for 17 points. She compiled three Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards (Sept. 2, Sept. 22, Oct. 13). Jordyn also received All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors.
Annemijn Klijnhout and Josie Hollamon were named to the All-Big Ten First Team. This marks Hollamon's second First Team selection. She was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week once this season (Oct. 13). Josie also shined on the offensive side picking up five goals and notching one assist, including scoring the game winning goal in the upset win over No. 10 Iowa.
Maci Bradford, and Alyssa Klebasko each earned All-Big Second Team. Klebasko picks up her second All-Big Ten Second Team selection. A warrior in goal, she has recorded 58 saves and is second in the Big Ten for goals against average (1.01). Bradford picks up her first All-Big Ten second team honors after a tremendous season at forward for the Terps. Bradford started in 16 games this season picking up five goals and eight assists. She leads the team in points (18) and assists this season delivering in several critical situations contributing to her teams overall success.
Maia Adamson was named to the All-Freshman Team alongside Jordyn Hollamon. Adamson has played and started in all 17 games for the Terps this season. She recorded her first-career goal in the overtime win against No. 17 Rutgers.
Maddie Vasilios rounds out the conference honors for Maryland receiving the Big Ten's Sportsmanship Award for the first time in her career. Vasilios recorded her first career start in the upset win against No. 10 Iowa. She recorded her two goals of the year against Penn and Northeastern.
Maryland field hockey returns to action as they begin their pursuit of a third Big Ten Tournament Championship. The Terps enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Ohio State on Thursday, November 6 at 2 p.m. on Big Ten Plus
