Bethlehem, PA– Maryland wrestling continued its early-season success with another strong showing at the 2025 Journeymen Collegiate Classic. 

The outing was highlighted by first-place finishes from Jaxon Smith (184 Black Pool), Mekhi Neal (157 Green Pool), and Branson John (197 Black Pool). The Terps also secured multiple runner-up finishes and several undefeated round-robin performances.

Branson John (197 Black Pool) claimed his second consecutive tournament title, following up last week's Southeast Open crown with another dominant effort. John posted a 9-1 major decision and a 6-3 sudden-victory win in pool competition before shutting out Zyan Hall, 5-0, in the finals to remain unbeaten on the season.

Mekhi Neal (157 Green Pool) continued, going 3-0 en route to the pool championship. Neal opened with a 15-0 technical fall, added an 11-5 decision, and closed with an 11-7 victory over Navy's Charlie Evans to secure the title.

Jaxon Smith (184 Black Pool) dominated throughout his bracket, earning a 18-3 technical fall and an 8-0 major decision before defeating Franklin & Marshall's James Conway, 7-4, to win his pool's first-place bout.

Dario Lemus (141 Black Pool), AJ Rodriguez (165 Blue Pool), Sepanta Ahanj-Elias (197 Blue Pool), and Joey Schneck (285 Green Pool) each placed second, while Abram Cline (125 Red Pool) and Tyler Garvin (125 Blue Pool) both went a perfect 3-0 in round-robin competition to round out a balanced team performance for the Terps.
