Football Holds Annual Awards Banquet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland football team held its annual awards banquet Sunday evening at The Hotel in College Park. Members of the 2025 Terrapins team, coaching staff, administration, support staff and families were in attendance for the year-end event.

The long-time voice of the Terrapins, Johnny Holliday, emceed the event. The evening started off with remarks from Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics Jim Smith and then the coaching staff began handing out the hardware. A full list of all award winners is noted below.  

The evening concluded with a recognition of the senior class and then closing remarks from Maryland head coach Michael Locksley, who also announced the three permanent captains of this year's football team. Defensive Back Jalen Huskey, linebacker Daniel Wingate and offensive lineman Isaiah Wright were voted by their teammates as the representatives for the 2025 team.

Wingate was selected as the Ray Krouse Memorial Award winner, given to the teams Most Valuable Player. Freshman quarterback Malik Washington was chosen as Maryland's Offensive Player of the Year, while Huskey won the honor for defense.
