Two Terps Match Career-Highs As GymTerps Top Iowa

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Two Terps matched career highs on vault as Maryland gymnastics defeated Iowa 195.750-194.725 at the XFINITY Center on Friday. The Terps won three of the four events overall, including vault, beam and floor.
The Terrapins opened the night with the vault event. They recorded a team score of 49.075, as Natalie Martin led all Terps, tying her career high of 9.925. Rhea LeBlanc also had a great showing on vault, tying her career high of 9.850. Three Terps overall scored 9.850 or higher, as Taylor Rech also achieved that score.
The beam was Maryland's third event of the evening. Komoroski scored a 9.900, tying her career high, and Martin scored the second-highest score of 9.800. Four gymnasts recorded scores of 9.725 or higher, contributing to the team score of 48.775.
Maryland scored 48.750 as a team on the uneven bars. Hailey Merchant had an individual score of 9.800, and both LeBlanc and Sarah Saville recorded scores of 9.775. Iowa logged a team score of 48.775, beating the Terps by .025 points.
