COLLEGE PARK-- The University of Maryland women's tennis team defeated Morgan State 4-0 on Saturday.

This was the Terps second sweep of the day, defeating Howard 7-0 in the morning. 

"The team did a nice job today securing two solid wins, they competed well and made good adjustments from the first match to the second," said Head Coach Katie Dougherty. "Overall happy with the day and ready to get back to work next week to prep for VCU and Towson."

The Terps struck first in doubles, with Oliwia Orlinska and Tamari Gagoshidze winning the No. 2 doubles match 6-1. Aida Eissa and Katherine Hung picked up their second doubles win of the day, winning 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles match to clinch the doubles point for Maryland.

In singles Kallista Liu got things started for Maryland, winning the No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-2. Oliwia Orlinska quickly followed up, winning the No. 3 singles match to push the Terps ahead 3-0.

Tamari Gagoshidze clinched the victory for the Terrapins, winning the No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-2.

Ema Kovacevic, Katherine Hung and Oliwia Kempinski were all leading in their singles matches when the match ended. The No. 6 singles match was Kempinski's first match as a Terrapin.
