SEATTLE – Freshman pitcher Logan Hastings pitched a season-high 7.2 innings in Maryland baseball's 2-1 win over Washington in game two at Husky Ballpark on Saturday. Maryland is now 12-11 and 2-3 in Big Ten heading into the rubber match of the series tomorrow.

Hastings surrendered just one run during his outing on three hits. He struck out six Washington (10-14, 3-2 Big Ten) batters and walked a single batter in the eight. He earned the second win of his young career.

Joey McMannis pitched the remaining 1.2 innings, earning his second career save. He struck out the final two batters despite dealing with the game-tying run in scoring position.

Chris Hacopian drove in the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run with an RBI double down to left field in the seventh inning. The game was previously tied at 1-1 since the bottom of the fourth. Hacopian went 2-for-4 in the contest with a pair of doubles.

Hollis Porter drove in the other run — the game's first run — in the fourth inning. He hit a solo home run. It was Porter's eighth long ball of the season.

Eddie Hacopian was the other Terp to record multiple hits. He went 2-for-5.

Breaking Down The Action

Eddie Hacopian singled to center field, and Brayden Martin was thrown out at the plate after attempting to score from second base in the top of the first. Logan Hastings then pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the inning.
In the fourth, Hollis Porter launched a solo shot to deep center field, giving the Terps a 1-0 lead.
