
Terps Place Fourth With 195.700 Score In Session Two At Big Ten Championship

ANN ARBOR, MI – Maryland gymnastics scored 195.700 and placed fourth during session two at the Big Ten Championships at Crisler Center on Saturday. It competed against Penn State, Iowa and Illinois in the session. The Terps are currently placed eighth among session one and two participants.
The final session, which occurs later today at 5 p.m., will determine the Terps' final placement. Iowa placed first with a 197.775 in session two and is currently in first place between sessions one and two.
The Terps began the session with a strong performance on floor. They scored 49.175 as a squad, placing second. All five competitors scored 9.800 or higher, and Rhea LeBlanc, Lauren Brendlinger and Natalie Martin all scored 9.850 to lead the team.
Maryland also performed well on the uneven bars, its third rotation. The team scored 49.225, placing second in the competition. The top five scorers all posted scores higher than 9.800. Sierra Kondo and Hailey Merchant both recorded team-high scores of 9.875.
Vault was Maryland's second rotation, scoring 48.825 as a team. Martin led all Terps with a 9.875 score.
