Derik Queen Sends Terps To Sweet 16: Social Media Rewind

SEATTLE Derik Queen's fadeaway jumper at the buzzer sent No. 4 seed Maryland men's basketball to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 as it took down No. 12 seed Colorado State, 72-71, in the second round at Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday.

Queen finished the game with a team-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds and two blocks. However, none of the seven shots he made from the floor were bigger than the one he hit as time expired. Colorado State drilled a 3-pointer with six seconds to play, giving the Rams a 71-70 advantage. But out of Maryland's ensuing timeout with three seconds to go, the freshman sensation found the ball in his hands.

He caught the ball at the top of the key off an inbound pass before quickly spinning around and driving to his left. Queen took just two dribbles as he attacked the basket and rose for a shot on the left block. He kissed the basketball high off the glass and it went through the bottom of the net. The horn sounded and Queen's teammates mobbed him to celebrate the win.

Let's take a look back at the clutch shot, the ensuing celebration and the reactions to the shot that sent Maryland to its 15th Sweet 16 in program history, including its first since 2016!
