Terps Lose Series Finale To UCLA, 11-5

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland baseball was defeated by UCLA in game three of the series, 11-5, at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium on Saturday. The Bruins (12-4, 2-1 Big Ten) also took game one on Friday, giving them the series win. The Terps are 8-7 overall and 1-2 in Big Ten play.

UCLA scored all 11 of its runs on nine hits in the top of the second, and Maryland was never able to overcome the double-digit deficit. Still, the Terps hunkered down for the remainder of the game, not allowing any more runs and scoring five unanswered. They also allowed just two hits outside of the inning.

Aden Hill finished the contest going 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in the Terps' first and second runs of the game with an RBI double in the third inning and an RBI single in the fifth. Brayden Martin added an RBI single in the sixth, and Michael Iannazzo belted a two-run RBI double in the seventh inning. He went 2-for-2, with a walk entering the game off the bench. Jacob Orr was the third Terp to finish with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run.

Alex Calarco continued his hit and on-base streak, extending it to 14 games and 20 games, respectively. He earned a hit and drew a walk on the day.
