
Kuang Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, IL -- Sophomore Yang Kuang of the Maryland men's golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week Thursday for his first career weekly honor.
Kuang won his first individual collegiate title as he helped lead the Terps to win the inaugural Testudo Cup event Sunday at the P.B. Dye Golf Course in Ijamsville, Md.
The Terrapins won their first team title under third-year head coach John Phillips and first since 2015. As a team, Maryland went 11 strokes under par with a score of 853 (289-277-287). Kuang shot a 209 on the weekend, going -7 overall. He shot a 70 in the first round, a career-best 67 in the second round and a 72 in the third and final round Sunday.
Next, Kuang and the Terps will compete in the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial event this weekend in Charlottesville, Va.
