QUERETARO, Mexico - Maryland All-American Jaxon Smith won bronze in the 2025 U23 Pan American Championships at Auditorio General José María Arteaga in Queretaro, Mexico, competing for Team USA. Smith secured bronze with three pins, all in the first period as he advanced to the semifinals of the 86kg. Smith defeated Kevin De Leon Trevino (Mexico) and Franco Gonzalez Palma (Chile) before falling to silver medalist Steven Rodriguez Torreyes (Venezuela). He then pinned Cesar Ubico Estrada (Guatemala) in 2:50 to claim bronze.
Overall, Team USA won eight gold medals to capture the U23 Team title.
