COLLEGE PARK, MD -- No.7 Maryland will play 12th-ranked/No. 3 seed Michigan in the semifinals at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. The Terps are seeking their fifth B1G Tournament title since joining the conference in 2014 and fifteenth tournament title in program history.

Where We've Been
  • Maryland is coming off of a 17-11 win against No. 7 seed Rutgers. Kori EdmondsonLauren LaPointe and Devin Livingston all recorded hat tricks to help power the Terps offense. Edmondson (4 goals & 1 assist) recorded her 11th hat trick of the season and 28th of her career. LaPointe (3 goals & 1 assist) earned her fourth hat trick of the season and fifth of her career. Livingston (3 goals), a freshman, posted her second hat trick of the season, matching her career-high of three goals. Sophomore goalie JJ Suriano made six saves between the pipes. Neve O'Ferrall (two), Chrissy Thomas (two), Maddy Sterling (two) and Fallon George all caused turnovers defensively. 
  • The Terps closed out their regular season winning five of the last six games and finishing with a 12-4 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the Big Ten. This season, Maryland has secured ranked wins over No. 8 Johns Hopkins, No. 18 USC, No. 13 James Madison, and No. 11 Michigan. Junior Kori Edmondson leads the offense with 52 points and 43 goals, while graduate student Chrissy Thomas leads the team in assists with 32. Defensively, the Terps are anchored by captains Kennedy Major and Neve O'Ferrall
  • Maryland defeated No.8 Johns Hopkins, 13-11, in its regular season finale on Saturday. This was Maryland's 800th program win, the most by any women's college lacrosse program. The Terps offense was keyed by Jordyn Lipkin, who had a hat trick before the end of the first quarter. It was her fifth hat trick of the season and ninth of her career. Lipkin went on to total four goals in the game. 
  • Kori Edmondson also delivered a hat-trick, her 10th of the season and 27th of her career. This is the junior's single-season career-high for goals, surpassing her 41 goals scored as a freshman in 2023. Lauren LaPointe (two goals and two assists), Chrissy Thomas (two goals and one assist) and Devin Livingston (two goals) also had multi-point games. 
  • Sophomore goalie JJ Suriano made nine saves between the pipes. Kayla Gilmore led the defense with three caused turnovers. Neve O'Ferrall and Edmondson also caused turnovers for the Terps.

Maryland will host the Big Ten Tournament after finishing the season 7-1 in conference play. 
Scouting the wolverines
  • Jill Smith leads the charge for the Michigan offense, while Kaylee Dyer has been the Wolverines' top playmaker, recording 29 assists.
  • In goal, goalkeeper Erin O'Grady has been the achor of the Michigan defense. O'Grady owns a 9.00 goals-against average and a .540 save percentage. 
  • Michigan advances to the B1G Tournament semifinal for the second time in program history with its 20-9 win over USC. Jill Smith scored eight goals and had two assists to set the Michigan single-game program record of 10 points. Smith's eight goals tied her for third in Big Ten Tournament single-game history.
  • This will be the 13th all-time meeting between Maryland and Rutgers. The Terps hold a 12–0 lead in the series, which dates back to 2015 when Maryland claimed an 14–9 win in the inaugural matchup.

Jordyn Lipkin recorded her fifth hat trick of the season and ninth of her career against Johns Hopkins. 
Thomas and Edmondson Moving Up The Charts
  • With three assists in the 2025 season opener, Chrissy Thomas became just the 66th player in Maryland women's lacrosse history to reach the 100-point mark for her career. Thomas currently has 146 points, which ranks her 49th on the all-time list.
  • Kori Edmondson recorded her 100th career goal against No. 3 Northwestern. Edmondson now ranks 52nd all-time on Maryland's career point list with 142 career points.

  • On February 14, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 2025 IWLCA Hall of Fame, which included Maryland head coach Cathy Reese.
  • Reese has guided Maryland to five national championships (2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019), 11 Final Fours, and 20 regular-season and tournament championships across the ACC and Big Ten. She is recognized as a four-time IWLCA National Coach of the Year (2010, 2014, 2015, 2019) and a 12-time Conference Coach of the Year.
  • Reese joins former Maryland head coaches Cindy Timchal (Class of 2017) and Suzanne Tyler (Class of 2018) in the IWLCA Hall of Fame.
