COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland baseball lost to Nebraska, 21-5, in the series finale rubber match at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Maryland is now 20-25 overall and 6-15 in the Big Ten heading into its midweek match against Georgetown on April 29.
Nebraska (21-22, 7-11 Big Ten) opened the game with a 6-0 lead, highlighted by a grand slam. It later added runs in the second inning (three), third inning (two), fifth inning (two), sixth inning (four), and seventh inning (one).
Maryland attempted to mount a comeback, using a five-run fourth inning to cut into the deficit. Chris Hacopian took advantage of a bases-loaded situation, crushing the ball out to deep right center. It was Hacopian's 23rd homer of his career and eighth of the season. He finished 1-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs.
Aden Hill drove in the other run, hitting an RBI single.
The grand slam was Maryland's 10th of the season. The total is one behind the 11 in 2023 for most in a season in school history. The 10 is also tied for sixth most in a season in NCAA history.
Hollis Porter (2-for-3) and Eddie Hacopian (1-for-3) were the only other batters to also record at least one hit for the Terps.
Maryland struggled to plate any runners on base or in scoring position. The Huskers ultimately outhit the Terps 19-5.
Andrew Johnson started on the mound. Cristofer Cespedes, Jack Wren, Andrew Koshy, and Logan Koester all made relief appearances out of the bullpen. Devin Milberg closed out the final inning on the mound.

- Hacopian scored one run, giving him 154 for his career. He has the seventh-most runs in program history. Chris Canann (1991-94) and Larry Long (1997-00) are tied for fifth, each with 158 career runs.
