COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland continues its eight-game road swing this weekend with a trip to Happy Valley to take on Penn State. It has been a close all-time series between the two programs, with the Terrapins holding a slight advantage with a 21-19 record. The two programs met last year in College Park to close out the regular season, with Penn State winning all three games in the weekend series.
* - Due to inclement weather in the forecast for this weekend's series, Maryland and Penn State will now play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 4 PM. The final game of the weekend will be played on either Saturday or Sunday as weather is monitored throughout the weekend.
The Terrapins are coming off as a road midweek loss to DMV foe Georgetown 11-8. Hollis Porter led the way offensively, clubbing a pair of home runs and driving in five runs. The Terps mounted a late comeback in the ninth inning, loading the bases with no outs. The Terps would close the deficit to three, with runners on the corners.
