MINNEAPOLIS – Maryland baseball earned its first conference series sweep after defeating Minnesota, 11-10, in game three at Siebert Field on Sunday. The Terps' last road conference sweep was at Indiana back in 2023. Maryland improved to 26-27 and 11-16 in Big Ten play. It has won back-to-back series as it continues to make a push towards the Big Ten Tournament.
Maryland struck first in the top of the second with a two-run single by Elijah Lambros. Minnesota (22-27, 8-19 Big Ten) cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning, but the Terps went on an 8-0 run to lead 9-1 entering the bottom of the sixth. The Gophers cut the Terps' lead to one in the eighth, but
Ryan Van Buren earned the save by pitching the final two innings and keeping the Gophers scoreless in the final frame.
Eddie Hacopian led the Terps offensively, going 4-for-6 with a career-high-tying four hits to go along with four runs and two RBI. One of his hits was a solo home run in the third. It was his ninth of the season, tying his single-season career-high, and 26th of his career.
The Terps have hit 86 home runs this season, ranking as the fourth most for a single season in program history. They're closing in on the third-most, which is 88 in 1985. Their most is a single-season is 137 in 2022.
Aden Hill and Minnesota native Paul Jones II joined Hacopian and Terps with multiple RBIs, as both also drove in two. Hill did so on a groundout and a hit-by-pitch, while Jones did so on a double and a groundout.
The junior also scored two runs. Parker Corbin and Minnesota native Paul Jones II also drove in runs. Jones has driven in a run in all three games against Minnesota.
Omar Melendez drew the start on the mound. He pitched five innings, surrendering six runs on six hits. He struck out four batters and walked two as he picked up his second win of the season.

- Eddie Hacopian tallied a career-high-tying four hits, giving him 227 in his three-year Maryland career. He ranks sixth in program history, as Dan Melvin (2004-07) is fifth with 231 career hits. Hacopian is one of just 14 players in Maryland history to record 200+ knocks.
- Hacopian scored four runs, giving him 162 for his career. He claimed sole possession of fifth place in program history, passing Chris Canann (1991-94) and Larry Long (1997-00). Chris Alleyne (2018-22) is fourth with 168.
- Hacopian recorded two RBI, giving him 143 for his career. He ranks tied for seventh on the career RBIs List with Scott Bronowicz (1995-98).
- Brayden Martin walked once in the contest, giving him 58 on the season. He ranks tied for second on the single-season walks leaderboard. He's tied with Derek Hacopian (1992).
