
Four Terps Earn All-Big Ten Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Four Maryland baseball players earned All-Big Ten recognition, the conference announced in a release on Tuesday. Alex Calarco was named First team All-Big Ten, Chris Hacopian earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors, while Kyle McCoy was named Third Team All-Big Ten. Jacob Orr was Maryland's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive year.
Calarco had an impressive senior campaign in 2025. In his final season in College Park, Calarco finished the season with a .287 average, 11 doubles, 19 home runs, and 61 RBI. Calarco's 19 home runs were tied for the fourth-most in the Big Ten during the regular season, and tied for 19th nationally. His 19 home runs in a single-season are the most in program history for a catcher, and are the seventh-most in a season at Maryland. His 61 RBI were also one of the top marks in the conference during the regular season tied for the sixth-most in the Big Ten. Calarco got on base at a high clip for the Terps, finishing the season with a .432 on-base percentage. His 46 walks during the season were the fourth-most in the Big Ten, and are tied for the sixth-most walk for a Terp in a single season.
Hacopian followed a strong freshman season at Maryland with another phenomenal season in 2025. In his sophomore season, Hacopian finished the season with a .375 batting average, 12 doubles, 14 home runs, 61 RBI, and a .502 on-base percentage. Hacopian had the third-best batting average in the conference during the regular season, as well as the third-best on-base percentage in the conference. Hacopian's .502 on-base percentage is one of the best marks in a season for a Terp, ranking ninth in program history. His 61 RBI are tied with his teammate Alex Calarco for the six-most in the Big Ten during the regular season. Hacopian now has 29 home runs in his two-year career at Maryland, tied for the 11th-most in program history.
McCoy came back from injury in 2025 and had his best season at Maryland. McCoy finished the 2025 season with a 6-3 record, a 3.32 ERA, and 71 strikeouts in 84 innings on the mound after missing all of the 2024 season. McCoy threw the third-most innings in the Big Ten, while striking out the ninth-most batters. McCoy had five or more strikeouts in nine outings during the regular season, holding a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.4:1. McCoy kept up his control all season long, walking just 21 batters in his 84 innings on the bump.
