ROSEMONT, IL -- The Big Ten Conference has officially announced the Maryland wrestling team's home and away opponents for the 2025-26 season.
The Terps will host four matches against Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue and hit the road for duals against Indiana, Northwestern, Rutgers and Wisconsin. All four home opponents finished in the Top 13 of the NCAA Championships including national champion Penn State, with Minnesota and Ohio State tying for fifth place.
"The Big Ten is the best conference for wrestling in the country," said head coach
Alex Clemsen, who will lead the Terps into his seventh season at the helm of the Terrapins. "I'm always excited when we get our schedule for the upcoming year. Since Clemsen and Company have come to town, we have not yet visited Madison and will have great opportunities on the road at Indiana, Northwestern and Rutgers. On the home slate, I'm super excited for our fans to welcome four of the best programs in the country to College Park and for everyone to continue to see wrestling at the highest levels."
In his six previous seasons with the Terps, Maryland has reached unprecedented heights in Big Ten wrestling under Clemsen. This past season, the Terps had their best season in the most competitive conference in the nation, posting their best finish with most points and most placers in the Big Ten Championships. The Terps posted their most points in the NCAA Championship and highest finish since 2014.
Jaxon Smith became the first Terps to earn All-American honors since 2019 with a sixth-place finish at 184 lbs. Overall, the Terps had six NCAA qualifiers in 2025, their most since 2012. Maryland recorded its most Big Ten dual wins ever this past season.
Dual dates, times and television information will be announced at a later date.
