COLLEGE PARK, MD -- With the baseball season on pause for the Mid-Summer Classic, it's time to recap the Terps performances thus far this year.
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MLB)
BRANDON LOWE, TAMPA BAY RAYS
After a terrific start to the 2025 season, Brandon Lowe made the second All-Star team of his career. In 84 games in 2025, Lowe has hit for a .272 average while smashing 19 home runs, good for an impressive .811 OPS.
LAMONTE WADE JR., LOS ANGELES ANGELS
LaMonte Wade Jr. played the previous four seasons with the San Francisco Giants before joining the Angels in 2025. On the season, Wade has tallied 31 hits, with 11 of them going for extra bases and 17 RBI.
SEAN BURKE, CHICAGO WHITE SOX
The 2025 Opening Day starter for the White Sox, Sean Burke has pitched well in his first full MLB season. Burke holds a 4.36 ERA over 97.0 innings pitched with 80 strikeouts.
MATT SHAW, CHICAGO CUBS
In his first taste of big league action, Matt Shaw has tallied 41 hits, 11 doubles and two home runs to open the 2025 season. Shaw has also added 21 walks and 11 stolen bases.
MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL (MILB)
NICK DUNN, Philadelphia Phillies
Nick Dunn has spent the first half of the 2025 season playing with three different teams, the Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners AAA Affiliate), the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies AAA Affiliate), and the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies AA Affiliate). Dunn has recorded 32 hits, 21 runs, 16 RBI and nine extra base hits across the three teams in 2025.
HUNTER PARSONS, NEW YORK METS
Hunter Parsons is in his seventh season in the New York Mets minor league system and holds a 4.01 ERA over 24.2 innings pitched with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in 2025.
JOSE CUAS, ATLANTA BRAVES
Jose Cuas opened the 2025 season in the Phillies minor league system before joining the Braves AA Affiliate, the Columbus Clingstones. With Columbus, Cuas has pitched to a 3.50 ERA over 18.0 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts.
BENJAMIN COWLES, CHICAGO CUBS
Benjamin Cowles has spent the 2025 season with the Chicago Cubs AAA Affiliate the Iowa Cubs. In 82 games this season, Cowles has recorded 70 hits, 37 runs scored, 25 RBI and four home runs.
RYAN RAMSEY, KANSAS CITY ROYALS
Ramsey has continued to move up the minor league system in the Royals organization, making it to AAA in 2025 with the Omaha Storm Chasers, while also spending time in AA. Between the two teams in 2025, Ramsey has a 5.95 ERA over 65.0 innings pitched with 62 strikeouts. On June 19 with the AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Ramsey tossed four perfect innings with four strikeouts.
TROY SCHREFFLER JR., NEW YORK METS
After spending the previous three seasons in the Phillies organization, Troy Schreffler Jr. has spent 2025 with the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets High A Affiliate). Over 92 at bats, Schreffler Jr. has recorded 16 hits with eight runs and three triples.
NICK LORUSSO, NEW YORK METS
Nick Lorusso has played the 2025 season with the AA Binghamton Rumble Ponies, appearing in 70 games. Lorusso has tallied 60 hits, 23 of them going for extra bases, with 33 RBI.
JASON SAVACOOL, ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
Jason Savacool has had a great third season in the minor leagues, posting a 2.14 ERA between Single A and High A in the Cardinals organization. Savacool holds a 6-2 record across 15 starts in 2025.
NICK DEAN, CHICAGO CUBS
In his second season in the minor leagues, Nick Dean has spent time between AA and High A within the Cubs organization, posting a 5.13 ERA between the two. On May 31, Dean tossed six shutout innings for the AA Knoxville Smokies in a 6-1 win.
NIGEL BELGRAVE, MIAMI MARLINS
Nigel Belgrave has been lights out in 2025 with the AA Pensacola Blue Wahoos, holding a perfect 4-0 record with a 1.58 ERA over 40 innings pitched. Belgrave has struck out 56 batters and holds a 1.000 WHIP in the first half of the 2025 season.
LUKE SHLIGER, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS
In his third professional season, Luke Shliger has spent 2025 with the High A Eugune Emeralds. In 43 games, Shliger has recorded a .243 batting average with three home runs and 27 RBI.
TOMMY KANE, WASHINGTON NATIONALS
After beginning his professional career within the San Francisco Giants organization, Tommy Kane has returned to Maryland and joined the Nationals organization. In 16 games with the FCL Nationals, Kane holds a 6-3 record with a 2.86 ERA and has tossed 33 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched.
