TAMPA, FL – Five Maryland football players were named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 watchlist, which consists of the best 1,000 players throughout all of college football who are currently all-star game eligible for the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl and the 2026 NFL Draft class.
Offensive lineman Aliou Bah, wide receiver Jalil Farooq, tight end Dorian Fleming, defensive back Jamare Glasker and defensive back Jalen Huskey have been selected to this year's watchlist.
This past January, four Terps participated in the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl - defensive linemen Tommy Akingbesote and Jordan Phillips, defensive back Glendon Miller and wide receiver Kaden Prather. Akingbesote, Phillips and Prather were drafted, while Miller signed as an undrafted free agent.
Bah is now in his second season with the Terps after transferring from Georgia prior to the 2024 season. He started all 12 games at right guard for Maryland last season, blocking for the No. 3 passing offense in the Big Ten (275.7 ypg). Bah played in three games for Georgia in 2023 after a redshirt year in 2022.
Farooq played in 36 career games at Oklahoma across four seasons from 2021-24, making 25 starts. In those games, he totaled 89 receptions for 1,287 yards and hauled in seven TDs. Farooq also made a significant impact in the return game, compiling 708 yards on 32 kickoff returns. In 2023, he started all 13 games for the Sooners, making 45 grabs for 694 yards (15.4 ypc) en route to being named Honorable Mention All-Big 12.
Fleming transferred into Maryland this offseason after spending the 2023-24 seasons at Georgia State. He's coming off a breakout season in which he was named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference, College Football Network All-Sun Belt First Team Offense and a HERO Sports G5 All-American. The tight end was Georgia State's second-leading receiver, hauling in 49 receptions for 558 yards and six TDs in 2024 after redshirting in 2023. In addition to his success on the field, he was named to the 2023-24 Academic Honor Roll for his academic excellence.
Glasker had a breakout season for Wake Forest in 2024, starting nine games and finishing the year with 37 tackles (33 solo) to go along with four pass breakups, three tackles-for-loss and an interception. Glasker was recruited as a Top 30 overall cornerback in Maryland out of high school. He also ran track, recording a personal-best 11.00 in the 100-meter dash at the MPSSAA 2A South Region Championships as a senior.
Huskey is in his second season with Terps after transferring in from Bowling Green. A Quince Orchard product, he appeared in 12 games with 11 starts for Maryland as a junior in 2024. Huskey totaled 45 tackles (21 solo), 2.5 TFLs, four passes defended, three interceptions, one blocked kick and one fumble recovery last season. Huskey posted a career-high tying 10 tackles at Oregon and his interceptions came against Michigan State, Virginia and Indiana.
The 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl will take place on Jan. 27, 2026 at Ford Center at The Star, Frisco, TX.
Maryland football's season gets underway on Aug. 30 against FAU at SECU Stadium. The game is slated for a noon kickoff on Big Ten Network.
