Jordyn Hollamon was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week in an announcement by the conference on Monday.
Hollamon, who receives her second conference honor of the season, helped No. 10 Maryland secure its first B1G Conference win over No. 16 Penn State, 3-1. She led the team in points (3), with a goal off a penalty corner in the 36
th minute and an assist.
The freshman from Delmar, picked up her first conference honor September 2. She helped Maryland go undefeated, 2-0 in the Conference Cup over Stanford and Villanova. Jordyn recorded her first career goal against Villanova and assisted on Maryland's first goal of the season, scored in just 1:40 into the opening quarter versus Stanford.
Jordyn is tied for first on the team in points with 10, with four goals and two assists on the season.
Hollamon and the Maryland field hockey team host No. 8 Michigan and No. 9 Princeton this weekend in College Park. The Terps play Big Ten opponent No. 8 Michigan on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by No. 9 Princeton on Sunday at 2 p.m.
