Terps in the NBA: Week 13

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The 13th week of the NBA season is in the books. Let's check in on Maryland's pros - Derik Queen (New Orleans Pelicans), Kevin Huerter (Chicago Bulls), Jalen Smith (Chicago Bulls), Aaron Wiggins (Oklahoma City Thunder), Jahmir Young (Miami Heat/Sioux Falls Skyforce) and Julian Reese (Raptors 905).
 
derik queen (new orleans pelicans)
  • Queen's stats remain consistent, averaging 12.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
  • In week 13 of the NBA season, Queen posted two double-doubles (vs DEN with 10 pts & 13 reb, and at IND with 14 pts & 12 reb).
  • Queen continues to lead his rookie class in double-doubles, now standing at 10.
kevin huerter (Chicago bulls)
  • Huerter continues to put in productive minutes for the Bulls, averaging 11.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
  • In two of his last three appearances, Huerter scored in the double digits, marking his 21st and 22nd double-digit scoring performances this season.
jalen smith (Chicago bulls)
  • Just over halfway through January, Smith is averaging 9.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
  • Since last week, Smith has climbed the rebounding rankings and now sits among the top 45 players in the league.
  • Smith has recorded double-doubles in three straight games, continuing what has been his best NBA season to date.
aaron wiggins (oklahoma city thunder)
  • Wiggins continues to be a key piece of the rotation for the Thunder, as he is contributing 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
  • He played a productive game against the Heat on Jan. 17, where he recorded 18 points, six rebounds, and one assist.
jahmir young (miami heat/sioux falls skyforce)
  • Young continues to impress in the G League, currently averaging 24.4 points, 9.4 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.
  • He ranks in the top 10 in points per game, top five in assists per game and top three in minutes played.
  • Young posted a near triple-double on Jan. 17 versus the Salt Lake City Stars, finishing with 22 points, 17 assists, eight rebounds, and four steals. This marks a new career high in assists for the Terp alum.
julian reese (raptors 905)
  • As week 14 approaches, Reese is averaging 6.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists.
  • Reese has delivered a strong stretch of performances, averaging 10.3 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last four appearances.
