NEW YORK, NY - Maya Valmon recorded the sixth fastest time this season in the NCAA for the 400 meters to highlight day one at the Dr. Sander Scorcher at the Armory Track and Field Center. In addition to Valmon's efforts the Terrapins saw three additional personal bests.

Valmon continues to shine in the 2026 indoor season moving into second all-time in the 400 meters with a time of 52.97. Valmon also currently holds two other top-ten positions in the record book, including the school record in the 300 meters and second all-time in the 200 meters.

Maren Iski hit a personal best in the 3,000 meters running a time of 10:14.51.

Ogechi Uzoukwu turned in a personal best at a time of 8.84 seconds in the 60 meters hurdles.

Jasmine Sharps recorded a personal best in the 60 meter dash invitational with a time of 7.76 seconds.

Other standout performers for the Terps on day one included Bryce Hatcher who took tenth in the 60 meter dash invitational (7.73) Armanie Coleman who took third in the 60 meter dash prelims (7.62) and took third in the 60 meter dash invitational final (7.56). Ogechi Uzoukwu who took tenth in the 60 meter hurdles invitational (8.84), Ka'Nai Bey who placed seventh in the 400 meters invitational (56.38). Maya Mosely who placed tenth in the 400 meters invitational (56.87), and Maren Iski who took eighth in the 3000 meters open (10:14.51).
