DENVER, CO — Former Maryland standout wide receiver
Stefon Diggs continues to add to an already decorated NFL career, as the four-time Pro Bowl selection and former All-Pro is now headed to the Super Bowl.
Diggs helped lead the New England Patriots to a gritty 10-7 victory over the top-seeded Denver Broncos in the 2025 AFC Championship Game on Sunday, sending New England to Super Bowl LX. The Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 8, in Santa Clara.
In a snow-covered, defensive battle, Diggs led the Patriots with five receptions. With his fifth catch of the game, Diggs became the 11th player in NFL history to record 80 postseason receptions and just the ninth to reach that mark in 11 seasons or fewer. He now sits six receptions shy of passing Hall of Fame wide receiver Andre Reed for 10th all-time in postseason catches.
"I'll take an ugly win before I take a pretty loss," Diggs said to reporters after the game. "Nobody's satisfied. Happy, but not complacent. We're blessed to be where we are, but we know there's more out there for us."
Diggs has been a key contributor all season after returning from a torn ACL, leading the Patriots with 85 receptions and 1,013 receiving yards during the regular season.
"I'm just so proud of this team," Diggs said in an interview with NFL Network. "You don't know how hard this year has been, battling the injury and coming back. Being around the right group of guys. Great quarterback. Great OC. Great team. Great head coach. It made it all worth it, all the hard work. We've got one more."
Before becoming one of the NFL's premier wide receivers, Diggs starred at Maryland from 2012-14. He finished his Terp career with 4,106 all-purpose yards, ranking fourth all-time in program history. Diggs also ranks second all-time at Maryland in receiving yards (2,227), sixth in receptions (150) and sixth in receiving touchdowns (14).
Now, Diggs will look to add a Super Bowl title to his impressive resume when New England takes the field in Super Bowl LX.
