COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Each week during the 2025-26 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week's Terp of the Week is Maya Valmon of the Maryland Track and Field Team.
Maya Valmon had a pair of event wins, both of which are among Maryland's top 10 all-time performances, and posted the sixth-fastest time this season in the NCAA for the 400 meters on Friday and Saturday at the Dr. Sander Scorcher Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York.
On Friday, Valmon took first in the 400 meters with a time of 52.97 seconds which is the second-fastest mark in program history. That mark also stands as the sixth fastest in the NCAA this season.
On Saturday, she ran the anchor leg of the winning 4x400 relay team which clocked a time of 3 minutes, 40.33 seconds which is ninth all-time at Maryland.
Maryland Track and Field returns to action this weekend January 30th-31st at the Penn State National Open in University Park, PA at 10:00am.
