COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland men's soccer has distributed their annual postseason team awards after a spectacular 2025 season. The award recipients are as follow:
John Carlson Award: Lasse Kelp
Lasse Kelp,
the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, has been named the John Carlson Award winner which is given to the most outstanding team member in Maryland Men's Soccer. Kelp anchored one of the nation's top defensive units, playing all 1,730 minutes this season — the full 90 in every match, plus 110 in the NCAA Tournament game vs. UNC.
Peter Lowery Award: Albi Ndrenika
Albi Ndrenika has been named the Peter Lowery Award winner which is presented to the men's soccer team member who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, distinguished citizenship on campus. Ndrenika earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team after an impressive season that included a team-best eight assists and four goals with three of them being game-winners.
Mike Mcilwain Coaches Award: Luca Costabile
Luca Costabile, a All-Big Ten First Team member, has been named the Mike Mcilwain Award winner which is presented to the men's soccer team member who exemplifies loyalty, dedication, and selfless commitment to the Maryland Soccer Program. Costabile started every match for one of the best defenses in the country and added two goals and one assist.

Midfielder of the Year: Leon Koehl and
Chris Steinleitner
Offensive Player of the Year: Stephane Njike and
Sadam Masereka
Defender of the Year: Laurin Mack and
Tristen Rose
