- During his tenure as both an assistant and head coach, Matt Swope has helped elevate Maryland's offense to one of the best in the conference. Over the past five seasons, the Terps have ranked at the top of the Big Ten in nearly every major offensive category, including home runs (532), on-base percentage (.407), slugging percentage (.509), runs (2,299), RBI (2,141), walks (1,567), and grand slams (27).

- The Maryland Terrapins had three players featured on the Big Ten Baseball Players To Watch List with them being Ty Kaunas, David Mendez and Lance Williams.
- Ty Kaunas was ranked the #13 player and #3 shortstop out of Maryland by Perfect Game. He was named the Just Baseball's Preseason Big Ten Freshman of the Year entering the 2026 campaign. The shortstop hit .400 with six homers in the fall. One of those came in the exhibition against St. John's when he banged a hanging curve for a three-run shot. It was one of multiple triple-digit velocities he produced while enjoying a three-hit game.
- David Mendez comes to Maryland after spending his freshman season at Dayton and his sophomore season at Vanderbilt in 2025. At Dayton, Mendez was First-Team NCBWA Freshman All-America, Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team. The infielder led all A-10 freshmen in average, OBP, runs, RBI, triples and stolen bases as he finished 2024 with a .342 average, .442 OBP, 49 RBI, 47 runs, nine doubles, two triples and six home runs.
