SARASOTA, FL -- The Maryland women's golf team tied for fifth as a team in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational at the Palm Aire Country Club Monday. Sophomore
Chananyu Chowiwattana tied for third individually.
The Terrapins earned a score of 900 (303-304-293), which was +36. They beat five top 50 teams in the country, including No. 25 Kent State, No. 29 Kentucky, No. 36 Clemson, No. 47 Princeton and No. 48 Illinois.
Chowiwattana tied for third individually with a score of 217 (72-77-68), which was +1. She made eight birdies in the 54-hole event and earned her second career top-five finish.
Senior
Surapa Janthamunee tied for 23rd with a score of 225 (74-74-77), which was +9. Freshman
Noa Terroba Toro earned a score of 229 (79-77-73).
Sophomore
Anna Pillard earned a score of 231 (78-78-75) to tie for 40th and freshman
Emily McKee tied for 51st with a score of 233 (80-76-77).
Next, the Terrapins will compete in the Chevron Collegiate event Feb. 23-24 in Humble, Texas.
