COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland wrestling team (5-9) closed out the regular season with a 20-19 tiebreaker victory over Drexel (13-6) on Senior Night Friday evening.
The Terps and the Dragons were tied at 19-19 after all 10 weight classes were contested, sending the dual to the tiebreaker criteria outlined in the NCAA rulebook. Maryland secured the win by outscoring Drexel in total match points, 89-87, to claim the decisive tiebreaker.
Five different Terps earned victories in the dual. Braxton Brown picked up a 5-2 decision over Kyle Waterman, while Dario Lemus recorded a 13-6 decision. Sepanta Ahanj-Elias added an 11-7 decision over Ethan Wilson.
Carter Young and Branson John each delivered bonus-point victories with technical falls in their respective weight classes, providing crucial points that ultimately made the difference in the team score.
Maryland returns to action March 7-8 at Penn State for the 2026 Big Ten Championships.
