
Riegger Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, IL -- Junior Emil Riegger of the Maryland men's golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week Thursday. He won the individual title at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate event Wednesday at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. As a team, the Terps finished second out of the 23 teams competing.
Riegger shot a 206 (70-69-67), which tied his collegiate career low with 10 strokes under par. He made 16 birdies and birdied or parred 48 of the 54 holes.
This is Riegger's first career weekly honor. He earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors and was named to the All-Big Ten Championships Team last year.
Next, the Terps will compete March 13-15 in The Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
