COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland football has officially announced the addition of defensive lineman Derrick LeBlanc, it was announced on Friday.

A 6-foot-5, 310-pound redshirt junior from Opa-locka, Florida, LeBlanc arrives in College Park after three years at UCF. He began his collegiate career at Oklahoma before transferring to UCF prior to the 2023 season.

During the 2025 campaign, LeBlanc played in eight contests, including five of the final six games of the season. He totaled 13 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks while adding a fumble recovery and a pass breakup. His 1.5 sacks came in a 45-13 victory over West Virginia, helping UCF's defensive front earn Big 12 Defensive Line of the Week honors after accounting for seven of the team's eight sacks in the win. LeBlanc also posted a career-high three tackles at Baylor and recorded at least two tackles in five games on the year.

LeBlanc redshirted during the 2023 season after joining UCF in July following spring practice at Oklahoma. He appeared in the Knights' bowl game against Georgia Tech, recording one tackle. He did not see game action in 2024.

Coming out of high school, LeBlanc was regarded as one of the top defensive line prospects in the country. A consensus four-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and On3, he was ranked as high as No. 51 overall nationally by ESPN and rated among the nation's top defensive linemen by multiple outlets. LeBlanc was selected to play in the 2022 Under Armour All-America Game and earned Orange Belt Conference First Team honors as a senior after compiling 136 tackles, 32 tackles for loss and 28 sacks during his prep career. He helped lead Osceola High School to a Class 4S state semifinal appearance.

LeBlanc has two years of eligibility remaining.
