COLLEGE PARK, MD – Kori Edmondson, Kayla Gilmore, and JJ Suriano were named 2026 Big Ten Players to Watch, announced Wednesday by the conference.

The Terps were also picked to finish second out of nine teams in the Big Ten, as voted on by the league's coaches.

Edmondson earned First Team honors, while Gilmore was selected to the Second Team and O'Ferrall received Third Team recognition. All three were also named USA Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans.

Edmondson was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year last season and was a 2025 Tewaaraton Top 25 finalist. She earned unanimous All-Big Ten First Team honors and led the Terrapins' offense during a standout season. Edmondson tallied 65 points, including 54 goals, and was named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week five times. She concluded the year with All-American honors from USA Lacrosse, the IWLCA, and Inside Lacrosse.

She also earned Midseason First Team All-American honors from Inside Lacrosse and a spot on the All-Big Ten Tournament Team.

Suriano, a sophomore, started all 21 games last season in her first year in the cage. She was named to the 2025 All-Big Ten Tournament Team and earned 2025 Inside Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention honors. Suriano posted a 9.61 goals-against average and recorded 180 saves on the season.

She led the Terps to the Big Ten Championship game with some of the best performances of her career. In the championship game, Suriano turned in a career outing with 18 saves in a narrow 8–7 loss to Northwestern. The 18 saves tied a Big Ten Tournament record and marked the most by a Terp in a single game since Megan Taylor recorded 20 against Florida in 2017.

Earlier in the tournament, Suriano matched her previous career high with 13 saves in the semifinal win over Michigan. Across three Big Ten Tournament games, she totaled 37 saves (12.3 per game), allowed just 9.7 goals per game, and posted a 56.1 save percentage, earning her All-Big Ten Tournament Team honors.

Gilmore will enter her sophomore season after being named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She made an immediate impact for the Terps, recording 14 goals and nine assists, while playing a key role in the draw circle with 73 draw controls. Gilmore earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors, was named to the inaugural All-Freshman Team, and was ranked the No. 7 freshman nationally by Inside Lacrosse.

The Terps will open the season on the road, traveling to face Syracuse in the Dome on Feb. 6 at 5 p.m.
