PHILADELPHIA, PA - Maryland's Tolu Akiduro and
Ella O'Neall led the way as each had all-time top 10 performance on day one of the Penn Classic at the Ott Center. The duo set the tone for the Track Terps as competition continues on Saturday.
Tolu Akinduro set a new mark for third all-time in the triple jump at 12.90 meters, climbing up the ranks to number 35 overall in the NCAA for the 2026 season. She placed third overall in the event.
Ella O'Neall moved into eighth all-time in the shot put, placing third overall in the event, and also hitting a new personal best of (15.10 meters)
In the 60-meter final,
Victoria Teasley finished fifth in 7.50 seconds followed by
Armanie Coleman in sixth at 7.51 seconds. Coleman was fifth overall in the prelims after winning her heat (7.56 seconds), while Teasley took second in her prelim heat with the 8th overall fastest time (7.59 seconds).
Other standout performers for the Terps on day one included Ella O'Neall who took eighth in the weight throw (17.00 meters), Morgan Graham who took tenth in the weight throw (16.44 meters), Jenessa Wolfe who placed fourth in the high jump (1.73), and Bryce Hatcher who took 10th in the 60m prelims (7.60).
