PHILADELPHIA, PA - Maya Valmon delivered a highlight performance to close out the weekend, setting a new school record in the 400 meters as the Maryland track and field team wrapped up competition at the Penn Classic at the Ott Center.
Saturday continued a trend of historic success for Valmon during the 2026 indoor season, as she set the school record in the 300 meters, posted the second-fastest time in program history in the 200 meters and moved into ninth place all-time in the 4x400-meter relay alongside Ka'nai Bey, Maya Mosley and Taylor Riley.
Maya Valmon shattered the school and facility records in the 400 meter invitational, clocking a time of 52.18 seconds to rank 15th in the NCAA.
Maren Iski placed first in the 1000 meters, posting a time of 10:07.96.
Other standout performers for the Terps on day two included
Armanie Coleman, who finished second in the 200 meters (24.05), Ka'nai Bey placed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.53
Taylor Riley placed fifth in the 800 meters (2:12.86). The distance races saw
Ellie Keefer finish fourth in the 3,000 meters (10:22.56), with
Cayden Justice close behind in fifth (10:24.17).
